| Joshua Bartolomé, a native
Manileño, graduated from the Philippine High
School for the Art’s creative writing program
in 2003, after selfpublishing a book of 3 short
screenplays at the age of 17. He has spent the
past few years wandering from college to college,
trying out different odd jobs and working part-time
as a ghost writer for Filipino government agencies.
In 2009, he became a member of the Calgary Slam
Team and was sent to compete at the Canadian
Festival of Spoken Word in Victoria, BC. He
is currently working on a shadow play based
on Jorge Luis Borges’ The Book of Imaginary
Animals, along with California-based painter
and surrealist, Angelo Manzano.
