Sharon Thesen

Sharon Thesen is the author mostly recently of The Good Bacteria, which was a finalist for the Governor-General’s Award, The Re-Lit Award, The Dorothy Livesay Prize, and the Pat Lowther Award. Previous books include the chapbooks Weeping Willow and From Toledo and the full-length book A Pair of Scissors, which won the Pat Lowther Award, and a selection of poems, News and Smoke. Sharon edited The New Long Poem Anthology with Ralph Maud, and a correspondence between Charles Olson and Frances Boldereff A Modern Corespondence. When she lived in Vancouver, Sharon taught English at Capilano College and was an editor of The Capilano Review. She now lives near Kelowna, BC, where she is a professor of creative writing in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies at UBC Okanagan and a co-editor of Lake: A Journal of Arts and Environment.
