Lori D. Roadhouse

Lori D. Roadhouse is a Calgary writer, poet, aphorist, performer and singer. She founded the Hilltop Writers critiquing group, and  co-created the 2003 Writing Toward the Light Poetry Contest and Poetry Concert. She has been a member and supporter of the Writers' Guild of Alberta, the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society, the Red Mile Revenge poets, Passion Pitch Poetry and the Magpie Haiku Poets. 

From 2007 - present Lori has been a Board member of the Single Onions Poetry Society. In 2008 - 2010 she was co-artistic director, performer and MC of Lotus Land at South Country Fair. She served as the 2009 Poet in Residence for Radiant Lights eMagazine. In addition to being a featured reader at a number of poetry and spoken word events, Lori has read her poetry on numerous radio programs, and has been published in a diverse variety of anthologies, magazines, newsletters, websites, and CDs. She was awarded a fellowship to the Summer Literary Seminars at Concordia University in Montreal in 2010. Lori is an avid supporter of writing organizations locally, provincially, nationally and globally, and is especially passionate about supporting and mentoring talented, aspiring young poets.
