Möe Clark lives and practices graphic design and poetry in Calgary. This year she will receive her Bachelor of Design degree at the Alberta College of Art & Design. Her first foray into the professional design community was the book cover design for Sheri-D Wilson’s book, Re:Zoom, in April 2005. Collaborations with Sheri-D continue, including poster & program designs for the 2005 & 2006 Calgary International Spoken Word Festivals.
Stepping out of her designer shoes, Möe began exploring the facets of spoken word poetry with her debut performance at the 2005 Calgary International Spoken Word Festival. She continues to perform at events ranging from the Calgary Stroll of Poets to SLAM competitions to fundraising shows. Her most accomplished performance took place at the 2006 CISWF, where she competed in the Calgary Poetry Slam until the end and took home first place.
Möe searches for new ways to sustain the language that makes us all "human": language as communication, sharing, self-expression and relativity. Relating to people is the most inspiring reason to share poetry with others. What better way to do it than through the tangibility of spoken word?
